Todd Berner is a medical professional with more than two decades of experience in the industry. Although he is currently based out of Boston, working in the fields of Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Health Outcomes, he holds the city of New Orleans close to his heart. He immediately fell in love with the area after moving there in 2002 for his wife’s career. Particularly, he appreciates the unparalleled sense of community in New Orleans. He was temporarily displaced due to Hurricane Katrina, the storm that devastated much of the city’s infrastructure and houses in 2005. However, the community as a whole could not be stifled. Todd Berner was proud of the New Orleans efforts to come together, and rebuild the city that is so rich in culture, food, and history.

This sense of community extends to the hometown NFL Team, the New Orleans Saints. Games in the Superdome served as a place for all factions of the community to unite and cheer for their beloved Saints, led by quarterback Drew Brees. Todd remembers the elation and buzz that filled the streets when Saints were crowned Superbowl Champions in 2009.

New Orleans is a city steeped in culinary tradition. Unsurprisingly, Todd is quite fond of this cuisine and misses Po Boys Gumbo, Jambalaya, , and other typical items of creole cuisine. While you can find these dishes across the nation, it simply doesn’t taste the same as it does in New Orleans. Eating a beignet from places like Cafe Du Monde is a treat you should truly only experience in this southern city.

He is proud of his wife who was fundamental in establishing the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. Although Todd Berner departed from New Orleans more than three years ago, he will always consider the charming southern city home.
